THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE IS PLEASED TO INVITE AUTHORS TO SUBMIT THEIR ABSTRACTS FOR ORAL PRESENTATIONS, POSTER PRESENTATIONS AND SYMPOSIA TO BE FEAUTERED AT ICAP2026

The theme of the Congress is: NEW DIRECTIONS IN APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY

GENERAL CONDITIONS

• Abstract must be submitted in English. If English is not Author’s first language, we recommend having the abstract reviewed by a fluent English speaker before   submission.
• Abstracts will only be accepted through the official ICAP2026 online submission form. Submissions must be completed by the deadline: 12:00 noon CET. Late submissions will not be accepted; abstracts in draft status after the deadline will not be considered.
• There are no fees for submitting abstracts.
• Upon confirmation of abstract acceptance, the presenting author must register for the Congress. All presentations are expected to be delivered in person. It is understood that all participants are required to pay the registration fee.
• Each participant can submit a maximum of two abstracts as a presenter/first author. There is no limit on the number of abstract submissions allowed for oral presentations as a non-presenting co-author or for posters as a co-author.
• Authors are required to select up to three areas of applied psychology (i.e., divisions; https://iaapsy.org/divisions ) related to their submission
• All abstracts will be evaluated by at least two reviewers through a double-blind review process.
• Participants who wish to submit an individual contribution may express a preference between an oral presentation or a poster presentation. The Scientific Committee will make the final decision regarding the presentation format, considering the quality of the proposals
• The author is solely responsible for the ethical and scientific integrity of the submission, as well as its grammatical and stylistic form.
• The corresponding author is responsible for the abstract. Please note that only the corresponding author will receive communications regarding the abstract and is responsible for ensuring all co-authors are informed of its status. Once an abstract has been submitted, no corrections to its content or details (e.g., author list, topic, conclusions, etc.) can be made.
• If you wish to withdraw a submitted abstract, please notify us promptly at icap2026@icap2026.org stating the title and number of the abstract to be withdrawn.

 

TYPE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

Symposia

A symposium is a format for delivering a series of spoken presentations that focus on a common topic.
Each symposium must be organized and submitted by a designated person, referred to as the Symposium Chair.
The Symposium Chair may serve in one of the following roles or role combinations:
(1) Chair only;
(2) Chair and Presenter;
(3) Chair and Discussant.
Each symposium must include at least 5 presenters and Chair/discussant from at least 3 different countries
Submissions for symposia must include an abstract for each presenter A total of 90 minutes will be allocated for each symposium
During the submission process, Symposium Chairs can choose between INVITED SYMPOSIA (only for those formally invited by the organizers/Presidents of Divisions to serve as Chair of an Invited Symposium) and REGULAR SYMPOSIA (for those spontaneously submitting a symposium proposal as Chair)

Individual contributions

During submission, participants can choose between Oral and Poster presentations:

– Oral Presentations
Submitted papers will be organized into thematic sessions and a chairperson will be assigned. Each presentation will be allotted 15 minutes, including time for discussion.

– Poster Presentations
Designated poster sessions at the Congress venue will provide opportunities for presenters to engage with interested participants and discuss their work.

 

GUIDELINES 

GUIDELINES for the Individual Abstract Structure (Oral presentation and Poster)
1. Title of presentation: Please choose a brief title (maximum 20 words) that clearly conveys the content of the contribution. Please avoid abbreviations in the title. Abbreviations may be used in the abstract text if defined upon first use.
2. Presenter, Co-authors, Institutions: Provide author details in the designated fields; do not include these in the abstract body. The authors’ order and details will be published as submitted.
3. Format preference: Indicate your preference for a poster session or oral session.
4. Thematic Area: Please choose up to three Divisions.
5. SDGs: Please select up to three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) relevant to the submission.
6. Abstract: Please ensure that your abstract does not exceed 300 words. Please avoid diagrams, illustrations, tables, references or graphics in the abstract. For research presentations, you may use the following structure: Introduction, Purpose, Method, Results, Conclusions.
6. Key-words: Please indicate up to 5 keywords for your abstract.

GUIDELINES for the Symposia Abstract Structure
Each symposium submission must include a general abstract detailing:  a brief title (maximum 20 words) that clearly conveys the content of the symposium; a brief description of the symposium topic; a statement explaining why the topic is novel, relevant or appropriate for the Congress; a clear outline of how each presenter contributes a unique approach/perspective to the topic.
The Symposium Chair is responsible for submitting the complete abstract, including individual abstracts for each presenter.

All participants must have an ICAP 2026 account created to be included in the submission.
